Are flat cut lettering, laser cut letters and CNC routed letters the same?

These terms are often used when looking for individual letters cut from sheet material. Flat cut lettering describes the letter style, while laser cutting and CNC routing describe cutting methods. The method depends on the material and design, and we confirm the specification before production.

How do I order flat cut letters?

Use our flat cut lettering calculator to choose wording, material, height, finish and fixings. Standard individual letters and numbers can be priced online. Your artwork and final layout are approved before production. For logos, a particular font or unusual shapes, send a lettering enquiry.

Which lettering materials are available?

Compare acrylic, aluminium composite (ACM), foam PVC, bare exterior MDF and mill-finished solid aluminium. Each material has its own permitted sizes, colours and thicknesses. See the current material options.

What is the lettering minimum order?

The minimum lettering subtotal is £30 excluding VAT (£36 including VAT), before delivery. This applies to the lettering order, rather than each individual letter.

How much is UK lettering delivery?

Delivery is £18 excluding VAT (£21.60 including VAT). It is free when the lettering subtotal reaches £125 excluding VAT after discounts. The lettering range can be delivered throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland. This offer does not make other collection-only products deliverable.

When will my lettering be ready?

Lettering production takes 6 working days after artwork approval; delivery time is additional. Ask before ordering if you have a specific deadline. Lead times for other signs and printed products depend on the specification and will be confirmed separately.

Are fixing templates included?

Letters alone are the base option. Locators plus a paper positioning template add 20%, or tape plus a paper template adds 30%, to the colour-adjusted lettering price before VAT. Fixings must suit your material and mounting surface.

Are MDF letters painted?

Exterior MDF letters are supplied bare and unpainted. They need appropriate preparation, sealing and finishing for their intended location, especially outdoors.

Can I order other signs and printing?

Use the signs and print shop for standard products. Upload suitable artwork where the product offers that option, or ask Enigma Signs for a quote for design help, installation and bespoke work. Check each product’s delivery or collection information.
