A practical fixing, made to fit
Black acrylic bracket for a hexagonal structure
A flat fixing face on a hexagon
This custom bracket is designed to fit against a hexagonal structure, providing a flat surface on the outside so another component can be fixed to it with screws.
Three layers, routed to shape
We glued three pieces of black acrylic together, then CNC-routed the bonded material. A fluting toolpath, using a 6 mm cutter, formed the V-shaped section needed to sit against the hexagonal surface.
The photograph shows the routed inner faces alongside the flat outer faces. It’s a small example of making a component around the shape and purpose it needs to serve.
